Slow Food Santa Cruz just came back from the showing of ‘The Garden’ at the Rio. After anger and frustration over the loss of the 14 acre urban garden, there is the realization that a larger movement still going on. There were great representatives on the panel after the film, from the Santa Cruz Land Trust and The California Food and Justice Coalition, as well as the organizer of the South Central Farmers, urging us to get involved in the fight for food justice. Slow Food Santa Cruz can work to make our community more just. Attendees at the film were enthusiastic about the potential for Slow Food Santa Cruz to bring attention to, and begin to mend, the food injustices in our area. Join us!
