On September 26, the Live Oak Grange on 17th Ave is partnering with Slow Food for a fundraising dinner to benefit High Ground Organic’s plastic crate campaign. HGO is raising money to replace the waxed cardboard CSA boxes with durable crates that will last season after season.
Speakers include our own Stephanie Webb, Stephen Pederson and Jeanne Byrne of HGO, Jo Ann Baumgartner of the Wild Farm Alliance and Maria Finn of Real Good Fish. The ocean-to-table dinner will feature farm-fresh produce and local whole grilled fish. Doors open at 5:00 for the dinner prequel film Souixtable Food by UCSC SocDoc student Cecily Engelhart.
