Chocolate Tasting and Wine Pairing
With Kallari Chocolate at Vino Cruz
We invite you to join us for an afternoon of indulgence, Saturday May 19th at 3:00 pm at Vino Cruz in downtown Santa Cruz. Slow Food Santa Cruz will be hosting a chocolate tasting and lecture by Kallari Association of cacao growers, one of only two cacao cooperatives to be recognized with the Presidium award for their heirloom cacao beans “Cacao Nacional de Arriba” which are now on Slow Food’s Ark of Taste. The lecture will cover roasting techniques, origins of the chocolate, stages in cocoa production and bean preparation as well as the process for chocolate making, and the economic impact of chocolate as a commodity. A wine accompaniment to the chocolate tasting will be provided by Vino Cruz Wine Shop with proceeds supporting Slow Food Santa Cruz.
Tickets will be $25 for Slow Food members and $30 for non-members.
